Transforming Breast Cancer Together

Transforming Breast Cancer Together

A collaborative initiative to improve breast cancer prevention, diagnosis and care across Europe by elevating it as a health policy priority.

Driven by the European Union Parliament, Transforming Breast Cancer Together was launched following a collaboration between influential policy makers and cancer care-associated organizations during a cancer care event on 8 November 2017, hosted by Elena Gentile (S&D) and Lieve Wierinck (ALDE), Members of the European Parliament (MEPs).

The initiative aims to:

  • Increase activity within health policy by working with three Members of European Parliament as part of the consortium
  • Call for advanced breast cancer patient empowerment
  • Raise awareness about the disease amongst the general public through publishing thought leadership articles and papers about advanced breast cancer
  • Ensure breast cancer prevention, screening and care is prioritised on both the EU and Member States’ agendas
